Default GT10B users???? Bass players whaTs UP!

    Hello all,

I am a split bass player and guitar player. Well it seems I play out mwith guitar more than bass, nevertheless I love them both, which can be quite confusing at times. Like today for instance I have played bass for about an hour, and have not touch any guitar, yesterday I dont think I touch any bass. Any ways, I digress.
I was wondering how you all like the GT10B. I have been using my Zoom G7 MFX for my bass with great results goinf strait to FRFR, but bad results going into like Garage band and stuff. How are the amp sims? ANyone run FRFR? How are the effects and usability in a live setting?
I had the ME50B, and it was ok, great live play, but not good FRFR.

    Thanks guys

Suppose i might be qualified to provide some answers, since i have a GT-10B, GT-10, GT-6B, and GT-3.
I gotta say the GT-10B is one cool bit of kit, as long as you can get your head around the huge amount of settings this thing provides. It is much better than it's predicessor, the GT-6B in the amount of effects and amp sim quality, plus the addition of 4 guitar preamps too.
Some think the synth was a step backwards for having a few less controls, but it does track a lot better now, some of the outstanding features are the dual channel paths and the ways of routing the signal between the channels, and the most importaint is the Assigns feature, where any effect parameter can be controlled by any pedal or internal LFO oscillators, up to 8 at a time per patch.
I use mine FRFR to a P.A. for practice and this works very well, i have a few patches loaded in the GT-10B for other amp types such as Ampeg SVT and tube emulation, which works very well. The only limits to tonal possibilties is only your imagination, this thing really is massive in functionality, and with different menu modes, it can be very easy or reasonably complex to program.
I must say the factory preset patches are O.K. but after tweaking this thing to 'Your Tone', this thing Rocks!! and throw away your Zoom.

4 guitar preamps? How are they? Any good for guitar? Is there a tap tempo for delay?

I have only briefly played with a guitar on the 4 guitar specific preamps. they range from clean to metal, and has the same controls and cab sims as the GT-10 does, being proper guitar amp models, they do not specify any branded models, i guess just generic types, but they do work well.
Yes, there is a Delay Tap and also a master BPM Tap, you just need to assign it to what ever pedal you want for Tapping.

WoW gumtown! Impressive, as I do both equally as much. How is it with live situation, is there a manual mode like the ME50B, were each effect etc is controlled by individual pedals?

The Zoom is very good actually bro, check this video out Both guitars are completely and only with the Zoom, the delays, drives, and cab sims are excellent, and I get close to that same tone FRFR, as this is how I prefer to play. I noticed that once I started going FRFR I would not have that terrible ear ringing and such after playing on stage for hours. Also I can get a real fat tone with the bass FRFR through the ZOOM with the tweaked EQ and a ROland amp and cab sims, beleive it or not. Straight into Garage band does not work out so well.Any way I digress.

Thanks for your input man, this thing sounds like it may be what would work out both ways for me! hmmm....

    Manual Mode, Yes.
Any of the pedals can be assigned to which effect you want to switch, plus a load of other options, such as level up/down, patch/bank change.
Some have used an assign with the assign source being the input level, where you can switch to a patch with the pedals, and when you start playing, it changes to manual mode.
the 4 knobs can be set to adjust any of the 700+ parameters in each patch too, (while in normal play mode).
You can download the user manual from the Roland/Boss site, and check out the patch editor from the link below in my signature.

Strange as it seems, but No.
The two units are almost identical except for a few features that one has but not the other.
    it comes down to..
    GT-10 has..
    Auto riff effect
    wave pedal effect
2 preamps with guitar only models

    GT-10B has..
extra channel switching options, including frequency divide.
    more compressor models including multiband
1 preamp with bass amp models and 4 guitar amp models.
    XLR outputs seperately controlled

    And both have variations in..
    Distortion types.
    preamp model types.

Appart from the listed differences, all the rest of the effects are exactly the same.
